2.5 miles up Pacheco Creek Trail from Pacheco Camp is the junction of Canteen Trail and Dog Trail. I take Canteen Trail, which is flat for a short distance, as far as Canteen Spring. After that, it rises steeply for about 1/2 mile up to the top of Pacheco Ridge.
